imposter syndrome, imposter syndrome quotes, breakthrough, imposter syndrome woman, imposter syndrome tipsDo you struggle with imposter syndrome as a woman in business?  When I first got started in real estate investing, I felt like a fish out of water.  In a matter of months, my life savings was totally gone, I had a house that needed tons of work, and my dreams of a comfortable, fulfilling life seemed to be vanishing before my eyes.  Yeah, imposter syndrome was settling in about then.

But, instead of giving into the feelings of failure and impossibility, I took a step forward to start turning things around.  I have never looked back. Today, my portfolio is worth over $2 million, and my life has completely changed.

And, yours can, too.

Here are my seven keys to overcome imposter syndrome to stop blocking your success and start achieving your dreams.

7 Keys to Overcome Imposter Syndrome and Get Things Done

#1 Discomfort is the Key to Growth

If there is one thing I have learned about imposter syndrome throughout the past few years, it is that I can minimize its effects by leaning into my discomfort.  I am not talking about the kind of discomfort where you know something is a bad decision. What I mean is the discomfort that knows that this is the way to succeed, but it is scary and unknown.

Scary and unknown does not mean full of true dangers.  And, truly, risk is absolutely part of success. Embrace discomfort as part of the process for success, even when you struggle with imposter syndrome.  Lean into your discomfort with intention towards your success.

#2 Hard Does NOT Mean Impossible

Success is simple.  But, it always takes hard work.   Notice the four-letter word: work.  Often what stands between a person and their dreams is just this little word.  Here’s the thing: if you truly want to achieve your dreams, you have to get to work.

Dreams don’t just happen on their own.  You have to birth them into life.

Just because it might be hard does not mean it is impossible.  Do the hard things if you truly want to change your life forever.

#3 You are What You Believe About Yourself

Do you really believe that you do not have the ability to achieve the life you desire?  Or, are you really just stuck in a way of thinking that believes it? Look over your life and find proof of your ability to succeed.  What have you done already? When have you done a hard thing and achieved a success, no matter how small?

Where in your life do you see the evidence of your ability to persevere and figure out new solutions when things get difficult or problems arise?  Remind yourself that you are capable, that you can achieve the goals you have before you, and that you do belong here.  Because, you do.

#4 You Have a Say in How You Handle Your Life

Every day you have a choice.  You can decide to let life pass you by how it currently is.  Or, you can decide to take steps towards achieving the goals you desire to see come to life for you.  It is always easy to be passive and complacent, but neither of these bring the greatest joys that achieving hard things will bring.

You have a say every single day in whether or not you will show up and get to work on the dreams you have for you life.  Every little step adds up. Keep moving forward.

#5 Feelings Are Bad Decision-Makers

If there is one thing I know for sure it is that feelings cannot be trusted as decision-makers.  Our feelings can often go all over the place. If we think that they are the best advisors, we will be stuck with whatever is the feeling of the day.

I know it can be hard.  Do it anyway.

Sure, you might feel uncomfortable.  Take action anyway. Yes, I’m sure nothing feels possible.  Get to work anyway. Talk to your feelings, understand them, but do not let them take the lead on your life.

#6 Get Educated AND Take Action

One of the best things we can do when we feel uncomfortable is to get educated on the topic that is creating the discomfort.  But, don’t stop there! Education alone does not produce results: ACTION does. Knowing how to do something is not the same doing it for yourself.  So, yes, get educated and learn how to achieve your dreams. Then, get to work DOING what needs to be done to bring them to fruition!

#7 Success is Available to Everyone!

You are no different than anyone else who has achieved their dreams.  Imposter syndrome is very common. Everyone struggles with the same fears.  We all have our doubts. I suspect they are simply part of us. But, the path to success is the same for everyone, too.  We must learn to face our fears, take action (even when we don’t feel like it), and lean into the discomfort that tags along.  That is the path to success in this life. Embrace it.

Don’t Let Imposter Syndrome Get in the Way of Your Dreams

I love helping ladies grow through the struggle.  In my world of real estate investing, my heart and soul is in teaching other women to do what I have done and make their dreams become a reality.  We put together First Deal Done Fast, my premier course, to clarify goals, provide a step-by-step action plan, and fully equip you to get started right away, even when you know nothing about real estate investing when you start.

I believe that real estate investing is the best choice every woman can make.  And, that women truly make the best investors. If your dream is to live a life that you could only imagine, maybe this might be just what you’ve been looking for.

But, don’t stop there!  While it is so important to learn all about how to become a successful real estate investor, there are other skills that benefit you, too.  The biggest one that gets in our way the most, though, is mindset.  So, this is why I just launched my newest course: Master Your Mind.  This course is packed with all the years of discussions I have had with so many wonderful ladies, who just get stuck in their heads.

Y’all, I want to see you succeed!  I hate hearing about the little gremlins that sneak up in your head and get in the way of taking massive action.  You know how I feel about action!  I am not sure how long I will keep the course up, so make sure to jump in and get started right away so you can maximize your FDDF course even more!

Imposter Syndrome is a Liar, but You Don’t Have to Listen to the Lie

I know that it can feel like you don’t belong and have no idea what you are doing.  But, even if there is a little bit of truth to the lie, you do not have to stay there.  Start learning, keep growing, and take action to do the things you need to do. And see your dreams come to life!  You got this.
